Welcome to Edith (“Edith”, “we”, “our”, or “us”).
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Edith macOS application, website, and related services (“Service”).
By using Edith, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the Service.

1. Description of the Service

Edith is a macOS personal assistant that helps you automate tasks, organize information, and take action across your digital accounts.
When you choose to connect your Google account or other third-party services, Edith may access certain data to perform the tasks you request (such as drafting emails, checking your schedule, updating documents, or generating reminders).

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.
By using Edith, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.

3. User Responsibilities

When using Edith, you agree that you will:

• Not upload malicious code or otherwise attempt to compromise security
  
• Provide accurate information when using the Service
  
• Maintain the security of your macOS device and connected accounts
  

You are responsible for any actions taken using your connected accounts.

4. Google Account Access

If you choose to connect your Google account:

• Edith may access Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, or other Google data only to perform tasks you explicitly request.
  
• You may revoke access at any time from your Google Account settings:
   https://myaccount.google.com/permissions
  
• Edith’s access and use of Google user data complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

5. Software Updates

Edith may automatically install updates and improvements.
By using the Service, you agree to receive such updates.

6. Third-Party Services

Edith may integrate with third-party services (such as Google or Supabase).

We are not responsible for the behavior or availability of third-party services.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, graphics, software, and materials provided by Edith are the property of us or our licensors.
You may not copy, distribute, modify, or create derivative works without permission.

8. Termination

You may stop using Edith at any time.
We may suspend or terminate your access if:

• We detect misuse, abuse, or security concerns
  
• We discontinue or modify the Service
  

Upon termination, your access to connected accounts will end, and you should revoke access through your Google Account.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind.
We do not guarantee:

• uninterrupted or error-free operation
  
• absolute security of data
  
• accuracy of generated suggestions, summaries, or drafts
  

You use the Service at your own risk.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• Edith and its team are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, including loss of data, productivity, or business outcomes.
  
• Our total liability for any claim related to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the last 12 months.
  

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; these may not apply to you.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.
If changes are significant, we will notify you through the Service or by email.
Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
